Our Shop Damigos Toys

Once upon a time..100 years almost before our present day, our grandfather came from the island of Santorini and opened his shop where we still are at the very same spot inside the historical center of Athens. The oldest toy shop of entire Hellas.

 

Many things changed ever since, the wooden toys and the ironed ones became games and modern dolls. An evolution passed through them and many were enriched with more material, they became larger in quantity and eventually they became electric and wired and now…wireless as well. Children on the other hand, became more demanding, parents straggle to get briefed, and safety rules intensified for the security of the children.

 

 

In our shop, we try always to get focused on the traditional toy, which for some is a romantic or a retro perspective of life. We are familiar with that world, we know everything regarding these toys and we love them very much. We don’t overlook our time, our modern time, but we get focused on the original wooden and other toys that hold for so many years as the the wooden, the tinned, the music boxes, the steadfast tin soldiers and others that our own parents and grand parents had played before us and we still believe in their educated perspective for the good shake of our children and grand children as well.

 

 

We do believe and insist to give toys that our own children but as well the future generations will still embrace, love and learn and hold them as a romantic memory.
